YOUNG AND POSITIVE about HIV/AIDS

This programme was launched in 2006 and aims to get young adolescents talking about their views, thoughts and responses to their bodies, sexualities, and ultimately HIV/AIDS. By visiting various high schools in KwaZulu Natal, the programme endeavours to create dialogue about HIV/AIDS on a more relevant platform, whilst educating the young learners on the facts pertaining to this dilemma.

"We envision that this will create an environment where they can then use the knowledge to act responsibly, and make the right decisions. And moreover, we hope this makes them realize that this is not somebody else’s problem, but an opportunity for them to find solutions..."

We probably stand a better chance talking in a language they understand, instead of feeding them what we think they should hear.

YAP becomes a special opportunity where learners can enjoy and love their being young – and that the possibilities/challenges that youth presents, should be approached with a positive attitude.
